About Me

Keen to hear from anyone who agrees with me or not, as long as you have an open mind and a sense of humour!

I'm proud of my Scottish heritage, but ...

A few blogs ago I wrote about women leaders and listed a few “turkeys – either incompetent or dangerous.” I missed one out. How, I really don’t know because she’s the biggest turkey of the lot.

Scotland’s First Minster, Nicola Sturgeon.

Some of the problems facing Scotland at the moment include:

Covid-19 is ravaging the health and economy
Scotland is reliant on Westminster funding the furlough scheme and securing a vaccine programme
Brexit teething problems are threatening the livelihoods of fishermen and other exporters
Farmers face losing their EU subsidies and don’t yet know what will replace them
Education standards, once the envy of Europe, have fallen off a cliff
The country’s drug-related death rate is out of control

So what is Sturgeon wasting time, money and energy on?
Sabre-rattling for Indyref2, despite the fact Scotland is unable to financially support itself, being reliant on Westminster handouts to survive;
Accusing Boris of being anti-democratic, then threatening to stop him visiting Scotland to democratically argue his case;
Undermining the Covid vaccine programme for the whole of the UK, including Scotland, by siding with the incompetent EU at the expense of the head-of-the-game UK.

I mean, the woman is certifiable. She is endangering the wellbeing of her own people in pursuit of an unattainable goal – an independent Scotland. Even if she secured Indyref2, and even if the vote went her way, the only way Scotland could survive without Westminster support is to replace this with EU
support, bureaucracy, shackles, obligations, and diktats.

In other words, Scotland would be less independent than it is now.

Sturgeon really is the ultimate turkey voting for Christmas.
